Shri Shivarudra Balayogi will be making his first
trip to Austin June13 to 16. Known as "Baba" by his students
and friends, Shivarudra Balayogi is a master of Dhyana Yoga Meditation.
Baba was born in Kolar, India in 1954, and raised in a religious
family that also respected the knowledge of science. While studying
in university, Baba met his Spiritual Teacher, Shri Shivabalayogi
Maharaj, who passed away in 1994. Shivabalayogi made several trips
to the United States in the late 1980's. Baba was ordained as a
monk in 1974 and spent 20 years being trained by his Teacher. In
1994, following his Teacher's physical departure, Baba undertook
a five year intensive discipline of meditation. Never leaving his
private room, Baba spent up to 20 hours a day in deep meditation,
known as samadhi, culminating in the permanent state of awareness
is known as Self Realization.
Since 1999, Baba Shivarudra Balayogi has traveled around the world to
spread the knowledge and practice of meditation which leads to
inner peace and Self knowledge. All programs are free and open
to the public. Instruction is given freely to any interested person,
with no obligation of any kind. There is no attempt or desire to
change the religious or spiritual views of anyone. The technique
of meditation given by Baba is ancient and can help deepen any
spiritual path the individual may already be on. It is suitable
for beginners as well as experienced meditators.

mini retreat will be held on June 15 from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Blue
Lapis Light studio, 6701 Thomas Springs Rd, Ste. A.
All programs
consist of a short talk by Baba Shivarudra Balayogi, silent meditation,
devotional singing and a chance to speak directly to Baba. All are
welcome. |
